Tom & Red : Matterhorn & Observatory, Swiss Alps

We loved our "Alpine Magic" Adventures by Disney trip to experience the Alps in Northern Italy to Switzerland. We have taken 7 Adventures by Disney trips and all have been amazing. This adventure was an adults-only trip (others have been family.)
Our group consisted of 20 guests & 2 tour guides.

Days 1-3; Our adventure started in Stresa, Italy.
We stayed at the regal Regina hotel on the lake. We had a walking tour of the city, wine tasting of wines from the region, took a boat ride to the Italian Royal's summer island home Islo Bella - where we toured the exquisite gardens with white peacocks, met the royal dog, and toured a portion of the royal estate. We then took another boat to Fisherman's Island and had a lunch of fresh-caught fish outside by the lake.
The next day we went to a farm in the mountains for dinner. Fed the goats, pigs & cattle. Then back to the hotel for fireworks over the lake.

Day 4; we went to Lake Como. Took an informative boat ride around the lake, saw & waved to George Clooney at his lakeside estate, then learned to make fresh pasta at the culinary school with an amazing lunch.

Then riding a bus through Simplon Pass in the Alps, driving through beautiful mountains, valleys, quaint Swiss Towns - on our way to Zermatt.

Day 4-6; we were in Zermatt, Switzerland and stayed at a beautiful hotel in the middle of the city - close to great shops, dining, sights and trails to enjoy the amazing scenery. We took a mountain cog train to the viewing area to see the Matterhorn, Glaciers & Observatory. Along the way we saw the cutest black-face sheep on the mountainside. The next day we tested out our coordination skills at a zipline park. I failed and was rescured by a local St. Bernard. Tom did great and completed the course.

Day 7; we were on the road again and stopped in Andermatt at a Swiss restaurant for lunch (including homemade strudel - yum!), shopped and then went on a bike ride through the beautiful area and walking with swans. Ending with a Swiss beer on the lakeside, before going on to Lucerne.

Day 8-10; Lucerne, Switzerland where we stayed at the lakeside Scheizerhof hotel (where each room is unique to a specific person) - we stayed in Keanu Reeves room. While in Lucerne we went on an informative city walking tour, took a boat ride around the lake, had a bar-b-que lunch on the lakeside, walked along the beautiful lakeside walkways, visited the Museum of Transportation, walked across the historic wooden bridge, saw the Sleeping Lion war monument, and ended our adventure with a farwell dinner at the Swiss House with 3 Swiss horn players.

The entire adventure was full of unique one-of-a-kind experiences (some only provided by Adventures by Disney), all our transportation, beautiful accommodations, meals, tours, luggage handling and so much more was all handled for us. Leaving us with the amazing experiences we had that we will remember forever. We loved this area and have so many wonderful memories of the destinations and the wonderful people that we made friends with.
